Inclusive, hands-on sessions in schools, community settings and our two South London studios. Ages 8–19 (up to 25 with SEND), plus community/adult groups.
Creative Mentoring Programmes
Grooveschool delivers structured DJ, music production and podcasting programmes designed to build skills, confidence and creative progression.
Sessions are inclusive, hands-on and relationship-led, delivered in schools, community settings and our South London studios.
Suitable for ages 8–19 (up to 25 with SEND), alongside adult and community groups by arrangement.
How Delivery Works
We offer flexible formats depending on need:
– 1-to-1 creative mentoring
– Paired sessions
– Small group programmes
– In-school enrichment
– Alternative provision placements
– Targeted intervention blocks
Sessions can be delivered:
– During the school day
– After school
– As short-term projects (6–12 weeks)
– As longer-term mentoring pathways
DJ Programmes
Participants develop practical performance skills including:
– Beatmatching and phrasing
– EQ and mixing techniques
– Vinyl, CDJ and USB workflows
– Set building and musical structure
– Live performance confidence
Programmes support progression from beginner level through to advanced performance.
Delivery is inclusive and neurodivergent-friendly.
Music Production Programmes
Participants learn:
– Beatmaking and rhythm programming
– Arrangement and track structure
– Sound design and sampling
– Recording and editing
– Mixing fundamentals using Ableton Live
Projects typically lead to finished tracks and showcase opportunities.
Podcasting & Radio Programmes
– Planning and scripting
– Interview technique
– Microphone technique
– Recording and editing
– Publishing and safe digital practice
Programmes support communication skills, storytelling, teamwork and media literacy.
Mentoring & Re-engagement
For young people at risk of exclusion or disengagement, we provide consistent, relationship-based creative mentoring.
Delivery includes:
– Flexible timetabling
– Quiet or sensory-aware setups
– Trauma-informed practice
– Structured but adaptable progression
The focus is rebuilding confidence, communication and positive engagement through creative practice.

We work across:
– Schools and PRUs
– Alternative Provision settings
– Youth and community organisations
– Our South London studios at LJ Works (Loughborough Junction) and 3Space International House (Brixton)
Mobile equipment can be provided where required.
What You’ll Need
For school-based delivery:
– A suitable room with power access
– Basic tables and seating
We can bring mobile DJ and production setups where needed and advise on equipment installation if required.
