Overview
Grooveschool works in partnership with schools, Alternative Provision, local authorities, youth services and community organisations to create inclusive creative programmes around the needs of the people they support.
Through music, media and technology, we combine practical creative activity with consistent, relationship-led mentoring. Programmes can support confidence, communication, wellbeing, engagement with learning and longer-term progression.
We work across South London and beyond, delivering in our own studios or within partner settings. Each programme is adapted to its context while remaining grounded in the same Grooveschool approach: participation, relationships, responsibility and meaningful opportunities to progress.
What We Offer
We develop creative programmes for individuals and groups with different interests, needs and starting points.
Delivery can include:
– 1-to-1 creative mentoring
– Small-group programmes
– Targeted intervention and re-engagement
– Alternative Provision placements
– SEND-inclusive creative provision
– School enrichment and after-school activity
– Creative wellbeing programmes
– Creative-industry and progression projects
– DJing, music production, podcasting and digital media
Our work is particularly suited to young people who may benefit from a different way of engaging — including those experiencing low confidence, disengagement from education, neurodivergent needs or other barriers to participation.
Programmes are structured but adaptable, allowing participants to develop at their own pace while working towards meaningful creative, personal and progression outcomes.
How to Work With Us
There are three main ways organisations can work with Grooveschool.
Commissioned Provision
Schools, Alternative Provision settings, local authorities and services can commission Grooveschool directly to provide creative mentoring, targeted interventions and longer-term programmes.
Provision is developed around the needs of the setting and participants, with agreed delivery, outcomes and review.

We work with funders, local authorities, charities and community organisations to develop programmes around shared priorities and identified needs.
These collaborations allow us to reach communities, test new approaches and create longer-term pathways into Grooveschool and other opportunities.

Our Approach
Our work is relationship-led, inclusive and grounded in participation.
Rather than treating creative activity as an end in itself, we use music, media and technology to create environments where people can build confidence, develop skills, contribute to real projects and gradually take greater responsibility.
Programmes are structured but flexible. We recognise different ways of learning and participating, and adapt delivery while maintaining clear expectations, professional practice and meaningful opportunities for progression.
This approach has developed through more than fifteen years of working with young people, schools and communities across South London.
